Find what’s stuck that’s causing yuck.

My Philosophy

Have you ever told yourself, "I should be over this by now" or "I shouldn't struggle so much with this" or "I should just move on?"

I'm here to tell you there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for the feelings, beliefs, and reactions that are causing problems for you. My clients often tell me they make surprising links from their past to their present through working with me. In my mind, that is what counseling is all about – understanding how what happened to you in your past may resurface in your life now.

Sometimes that answer is obvious and you need a space to unpack the pain you’ve experienced. Other times you may find yourself confused or surprised by your actions and you don’t understand feelings or reactions.  Work with me and start building insight.

How I Can Help You

In my work I focus on helping my clients answer the question, “What is stuck that’s causing yuck?”

Maybe you already know the answer to that question and aren’t sure about how to get those things “unstuck.” Or maybe, you know there is yuck in your life but you just can’t put a finger on why. Either way, I can help.

When you work with me you will gain understanding about how experiences from your past continue to influence your life, in both helpful and unhelpful ways. You’ll learn skills to re-teach your brain and your body to respond in a more regulated way to stressors. And, you’ll reprocess old memories that are creating barriers to your personal growth.

I am an EMDR Certified Therapist which means I've voluntarily completed extra training, extra consultation, and have used EMDR with dozens of clients. I've seen the magic work and I want to help you find it!

I also pull from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) where we identify what is deep and meaningful to you and help you pursue it; as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills which provide tangible ways to cope with whatever life throws at you.

I’m a born-and-raised Coloradan who loves my 300+ days of sunshine and dry climate. When I’m not in the office you can find me spending time outside with my husband and our dog, chatting at book club with my friends, dreaming about my next vacation, or trying a new brewery.

As a therapist I bring a calming presence and try to make my clients feel at ease. When you’re talking to me I want it to feel comfortable and that you can come as you are, whatever that looks like. I’m here to learn your story and walk with you through the yuck so that you can put some shimmer back into your life.
