My Philosophy

I understand that opening up to a therapist can feel incredibly risky – maybe even a little scary. That's why I'm dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and truly understood. Acknowledging the bravery it takes to begin therapy, I believe it's important to approach your experiences with an open mind and kindness rather than judgment.

Together, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences, and begin to develop insight into the patterns that may be causing you distress. This journey of self-discovery can also be a first step in nurturing existing relationships or cultivating new ones, as you connect with yourself and others in a more authentic way.

How I Can Help You

My therapeutic approach is deeply informed by the belief that our history significantly influences our present experiences. At the heart of my practice is psychodynamic therapy, which allows us to explore your past and understand how it shapes your perceptions of yourself, others, and the world. Recognizing our perceptions are often shaped by past experiences, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize patterns in your thinking and distinguish between factual and distorted thinking. I also integrate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a therapy approach that teaches practical skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and change unhelpful behaviors.

It’s common to begin therapy feeling aware of what isn’t working and focused on what feels broken. To address this, I use a strengths-based approach, encouraging you to recognize your inherent strengths and past successes - because we all possess them. I believe in everyone's innate capacity to overcome adversity; therefore, I will support you in breaking down personal barriers, building resilience through skill development, and reinforcing your foundations by drawing upon your existing strengths.

JUST THE FACTS ABOUT

Caroline Jung, LPCC

I became a therapist because I believe no one should walk through pain in isolation. I have aspired to create an environment where individuals can simply be and authentically feel without the burden of expectation. And over time, experience hope spring forth from the barest sparks - growing into something brighter—embracing the lessons and beauty that emerge from hardship.

In my free time, I love hanging out with my husband and our two boys. Evenings and weekends often find us cheering on the boys and their respective basketball teams or enjoying a TV. show/movie together. Weekends in late Spring and Summer are often spent camping in the mountains. I enjoy my local book club and girls' trips with my chosen sisterhood.
